Fairfax County Police Department
Our Partnership with the Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Center)
The Fairfax County Police Department often receives questions or input regarding the actions taken by the employees of the Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Center). Employees of the DPSC are civilians who perform a critical mission for the police department by answering and dispatching our calls for service. Most people do not know that they are a separate agency from the police department.
All of the entities that fall under the Fairfax County Public Safety umbrella work together in attempts to reach common goals and maintain a high level of quality of life for our citizens. Calls received are dispatched in accordance with the established procedures and protocols governing the 9-1-1 center.
