Fairfax County Police Department Our Partnership with the Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Center)The Fairfax County Police Department often receives questions or input regarding the actions taken by the employees of the Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Center). Employees of the DPSC are civilians who perform a critical mission for the police department by answering and dispatching our calls for service. Most people do not know that they are a separate agency from the police department. All of the entities that fall under the Fairfax County Public Safety umbrella work together in attempts to reach common goals and maintain a high level of quality of life for our citizens. Calls received are dispatched in accordance with the established procedures and protocols governing the 9-1-1 center. If you would like more information about the DPSC, as well as listen to simulated calls to understand what information is requested and why, please visit their web page at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/911. ### To request this information in an alternate format, call the Franconia District Station at 703.922.0889.
