Fairfax County Police Department Signs to Change Traffic on Telegraph Road
Starting Monday, July 30 there will be new signs posted on Telegraph Road in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The signs will inform drivers on southbound Telegraph Road that they may not turn left onto S. Kings Highway between 6-9 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. During those hours, the left turn lane will not get a green signal. These changes are being made in order to relieve some of the current congestion, and in anticipation of future needs, based on the construction in that area. Drivers should be aware that officers will be out to educate the public about the change, and take enforcement action when needed. Additionally, officers would like everyone to know that driving through parking lots of area businesses in order to avoid the traffic signals is a violation of law and will not be permitted.
