Fax 703-719-6436 www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/stations/franconia Date Released 08/14/12 Contact: Brooke Wright / 703-922-0889 Information Bulletin: 2012-2210036 Mailbox Smashers Caught                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Killian Gallagher                                            Luke Wheeler                                                                           Officers of the Franconia Station credit an alert resident with the phone call that lead to the apprehension of a group destroying property overnight last Wednesday.  Fairfax County DPSC call takers were notified that a truck was on their street and that people inside were smashing mailboxes.             The dispatcher notified midnight officers who responded and were able to arrest 20 year old Killian Gallagher of 7421 Hastings Street in Springfield and 18 year old Luke Wheeler of 6417 Julian Street in Springfield. The two adults were in the company of two juvenile accomplices who will also face charges.  The investigation continues into recent similar cases.             This case is a perfect example of the community and the police working together to protect the community.  Please, do not hesitate to make the call!
