Fairfax County Police Department Franconia Officers Prepare for Major Storm
Officers from the Franconia District are ready to tackle the incoming storm. Commanders have taken steps to insure that staffing levels will meet the demand for an anticipated increase in calls for service during Hurricane Sandy. In addition to increased staffing, our station resource officer has enhanced our supply of traffic flares, cones, and temporary barriers. Officers are also trained in the deployment and use of chain saws, generators and variable message boards. We ask Franconia residents to use extreme caution if they have to go out during the storm. If you are driving and approach an intersection without power, please treat it as a four-way stop sign. In case of a power/telephone outage, you can respond to your nearest police and fire station for assistance.
