Fairfax County Police Department Fill the Wagon 2012 – Another Successful Drive!The Fill the Wagon food drive is officially over. This year, in addition to our standard food drive, we also collected donations for Hurricane Sandy victims. The response to the food drive by our residents has been tremendous. We collected approximately 16,000 pounds of food (an increase over what we collected last year) and over $1,300 in cash, check and gift card donations. Donations were made to: United Community Ministries (UCM) Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO) Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC)
The Franconia CAC was, as always, a huge support. The group made a donation and several individual members made donations of food, cash and gift cards. Additional recognition goes out to grocery stores which allowed us to stake a location near the exit of their store.
