Reston Station Construction Project

On March 25, 2013 construction began on the NEW Reston District Police Station.  Crews are removing trees and clearing ground.  Parking around the building has been signicantly reduced due to the clearing of the grounds. The project is slated to be complete in 2015.

The trees have almost been completely removed around the station, making way for the new building.  Temporary fence has been installed to contain the construction and construction equipment has been working hard to make way for the new Reston District Station.

Crime Prevention Tips - Home Safety

Please remember to:

  • Lock your doors!  Your car doors, your front and back doors, your basement door, the door to your house from your garage and your sliding doors should be locked even when you are home.
  • Remove your valuables from your car, or at least put them out of plain sight!  There should be nothing of value visible in your car, including your car keys and charger cables.  Your valuables cannot be stolen from your car if they are not in your car.
  • Record your serial numbers!  Small electronics like smart phones, cameras and laptops are big targets.  All of these types of devices have a serial number on them.  Write them down and keep them in a safe place, preferrably not on your computer or laptop.
  • Report suspicious activity when you see it!  Suspicious activity is anything that is out of the ordinary.  Call the non-emergency number 703-691-2131 to report suspicious activity.  If you see what you think is a crime occurring in your presence, call 9-1-1
