Mason Police District Officer of the Year: Chip Connor

2009 Mason District Station Officer of the Year: Master Police Officer Chip Connor

The Mason District Citizen's Advisory Council voted to present this award to MPO Conner on January 5, 2010. Officer Conner joined the police department in 1982 and joined the Mason Station in 1991 as a patrol officer. Chip later became a School Resource Officer before being selected as a Crime Prevention Officer in 2001.

Chip is usually the first point of contact for Neighborhood Watch groups and civic organizations with community concerns. He performs safety checks, addresses citizen groups and regularly reaches out to youth across the district on crime and safety matters.

The Fairfax County Police Department has long considered crime prevention to be a key element in our ability to fight crime. Chip's work as a Crime Prevention Officer has assisted the Mason Station in establishing the largest number of active Neighborhood Watch programs in the County. Chip has further elevated the station's annual National Night Out program, set up business watch programs, and maintains active on the Citizen's Advisory Committee.

His enthusiasm and motivation remain high and his passion for his job is evident in carrying out his daily duties.

Congratulations Officer Conner!
