Police Establish Retail Serial Assault Task Force; Convened Meeting
with Regional Agencies
August 12, 2011
Fairfax County Police have set up an internal task force in an effort to track down a suspect in the serial assaults that have taken place at retail stores since February 2011. The last known assault was July 25 and there have been no new cases reported since that evening.
Although there have been no confirmed assault reports outside of Fairfax County, Fairfax County Police met with officers from neighboring jurisdictions this morning to share information and increase their awareness of this active, ongoing investigation.
With the volume of leads and follow-up calls from the public concerning this situation, coordination of efforts is critical. Members of the task force and other police officials discussed: information sharing, management of investigative leads, coordination of units and staffing operations within the police department.
Police are utilizing a variety of techniques and personnel in their investigation including additional uniformed officers throughout malls and retail centers across the area.

always, anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers by
