BOARD MATTER
September 12, 2005

Expedited & Concurrent Processing
Claude Moore Health Education Center
SEA 80-P-079-14

Mr. Chairman:

I have been informed by representatives of Inova that during the preparation of the final building plans for the proposed Claude Moore Health Education Center on the Inova Fairfax Hospital Campus, it was determined that an additional floor must be added to the building that we approved in November 2004. Our Planning staff has concluded that this revision necessitates a Special Exception Amendment.

Inova has filed SEA 80-P-079-14 to address this additional floor. Given the time constraints to commence construction of the Education Center, it has been concluded that the requisite site and building plans must be filed and reviewed by the County while the Special Exception Amendment Application is being processed.

Motion:

Therefore, Mr. Chairman, I move that the Board direct the Department of Planning and Zoning to schedule PCA 80-P-039-09 for the earliest possible date.

I further move that the Board approve concurrent processing for both the site and building plans for this proposed building while the Special Exception Amendment Application is being processed.

This motion does not prejudice in any way the consideration this SEA nor does it relieve the applicant from compliance with the provisions of all the applicable ordinances, regulations or adopted standards.
