Workshops
will be presented by the following organizations ~ Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), Inc.,
American Lung Association of Virginia, Virginia Village
Productions, Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation
District and others.
Tour:
10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Participants
will engage in an educational walk to a Low Impact Development
Project site with two experts from the Northern Virginia
Soil and Water Conservation District and the Department
of Public Works and Environmental Services, Fairfax
County. The project site is located in the parking area
at 8739 Lee Highway, Fairfax - shared by the Providence
District Supervisor's office and Fairfax County Fire
& Rescue Station #30 (Merrifield).
Panel
Discussion: 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
A
panel of experts will be sharing concepts and techniques
in low impact development and stormwater management
and will engage in a Q&A session with participants.
The panel discussion will be moderated by the Department
of Public Works and Environmental Services, Fairfax
County.
Kid's
Workshop: 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The
Clean Fairfax Council, Inc. and Childtime will be hosting
a kid's workshop where participants can come and learn
how to recycle, do cross-word puzzles, watch a show
and participate in many other fun activities!
