JOINT BOARD MATTER
With Chairman Connolly

Tinner Hill Cultural Center and the John Jackson Center for Piedmont Blues
Expedited & Concurrent Processing of Special Exception and Site Plans
&
Waiver of Fees

April 4, 2005

Mr. Chairman:

As you know, the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization that has been diligently working on its plans to develop the Tinner Hill Cultural Center and the John Jackson Center for Piedmont Blues. I have included the latest architectural rendering of the project. A proposed interactive museum, which will celebrate the location of the first NAACP rural branch and a Piedmont Blues performance stage are to be constructed on property located at 106 and 108 Tinner Hill Road in Fairfax County and the City of Falls Church. The Foundation is currently leasing this property from the County and the City. The next steps to realize this vision is the submission of a special exception application and site plans to Fairfax County.

Motions:

To further assist the Foundation, I move that the Board approve the expedited and concurrent processing of the Foundation's special exception application and site plans for the properties described above.

I further move that the Board of Supervisors waive the fees associated with the Tinner Hill Foundation special exception application and site plan processing.

These motions do not otherwise relieve the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation from compliance with the provisions of all applicable ordinances, regulations, and adopted standards and does not prejudice in any way the consideration their Special Exception Application.
