Serving Providence District on Boards, Authorities, and Commissions

Providence District is known for its enthusiastic citizen involvement. The willingness of residents to volunteer their time and expertise is at the core of what makes our community such a great place to live and work. I rely on this community spirit for many special events and programs and I am always looking for citizens to serve on one of the many boards, authorities, or commissions that advise the Board of Supervisors on many issues.

These groups, which have been established by the Board, each have a specific purpose. If you are a resident of the Providence District and are interested in serving, I invite you to submit your resume with a brief cover letter addressed to me. Please include a list of the boards on which you might like to serve and your general areas of expertise and interest. While the particular positions you're interested in may be filled at the time you apply, vacancies do occur regularly and ad hoc groups may be formed by the Board to address particular situations. I will be glad to keep your resume on file and contact you so we can meet and discuss any opportunities that arise.

Please be certain that your resume contains your address, work and home telephone numbers, and an email address, if available. You may also call or email my office to request additional information on many of these advisory groups. Debbie Wisoff will coordinate with you to find an appropriate position. Thank you for considering serving your community.

Sincerely,
Linda Q. Smyth

Complete listing of all boards, authorities, and commissions is available on the Clerk to the Board's Web site.
