Development of
Disbursement Procedures for the
Tree Preservation and Planting Fund

Mr. Chairman

As you recall, the Board approved several recent Providence District rezoning applications that included contributions for tree planting to a new County Tree Preservation and Planting Fund. The development of the Fairfax County Tree Preservation and Planting Fund necessitates that the Board develop a consistent countywide protocol guiding the disbursement of collected proffered tree planting funds.

Motion

To that end, I move that the Board direct Urban Forest Management and Land Development Services in the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, and the County Attorney’s Office to, develop and report back to the Board with a set of suggested general policies and standards guiding the County disbursement of collected proffered tree planting funds.
