VCE Impacting Communities in Fairfax County

Mr. Chairman,

Over this past summer, my office had been working closely with the Virginia Cooperative Extension's Leadership Council to present a public awareness day to showcase programs offered by Extension in Fairfax County. As you know, Extension offers many valuable programs such as the Master Gardener's Program, 4-H Club and the Jump Mentoring Program, to name a few. Extension programs and staff are an important part of our communities and a familiar face at our farmer's markets, community centers and schools, as they serve county residents.

On behalf of Extension's Leadership Council, I am happy to inform the board that the showcase event day is scheduled for October 7 at 11:30 am at the Government Center's Main Lobby Forum area and invite you to join me in support of Extension's undertaking. I would also ask that this event be publicized and be given support from staff.
