Participants experience the spirit of community and friendship at the Herndon Senior Center. They sincerely care about each other and the Herndon/Reston community! The schedule is packed with fun and fulfilling programs and activities that keep members returning.

  • Health and Wellness to Benefit Body and Mind: Enjoy programs such as tai chi, jazzercise, line dancing, senior aerobics, Pilates, “Mental Muscle,” and meditation, or simply enjoy the free use of our exercise room! Come on Saturdays to ask questions of our certified personal trainer.
  • Lifelong Learning for the Left Brain – Language, History, and Technology Skills: Attend to sharpen the mind with book clubs, Spanish or ESL classes, and computer help labs.
  • Lifelong Learning for the Right Brain – Fine Arts, Games, Hobbies, and Service: Increase your creative and caring side with social activities, music lessons and groups, drawing and painting classes, card or tile games, the theatre group, and community service that extends to our local area and throughout the world!
  • Participants also enjoy special events, on-site presentations, and trips for fun and necessity.

Seeking Volunteers over the age of 18:

We are always happy to welcome volunteers to our community. Our volunteers provide support to our community in so many ways. Dependent on qualifications, there are many fun and educational opportunities available. For more information please call 703-464-6200, TTY 711.

Seeking Volunteers 55 years or better:

“Humanitarian Grant Group” - Do you want to contribute to a charitable cause without sending money away somewhere? Join the new “Humanitarian Grant Group” to find out how you can easily offer a little of your time and talent to aid our soldiers at war, worldwide victims of natural disaster, and children of impoverished countries. Will meet Tuesdays at 6 p.m. There is no charge to participate. We are eagerly requesting volunteers for this exciting new initiative! Contact Kristina for more information.
