Field Season Date Change - Effective immediately, the Spring and Summer Field Scheduling Seasons have been combined into a single season (March 1 – July 31). The application deadline for the Spring/ Summer Field season is December 1.

Application for Field and Gym Permits Information on reserving fields and gyms and downloadable permit applications.

Park Authority Athletic Field Closure Status Listing of Park Authority fields closed due to weather or field conditions. This information can also be accessed by calling the facility cancellation hotline at 703-324-5264.

Gym Cancellations Listing of future gym cancellations due to school events and other non-weather related events or holidays.

Gym Holiday Closures. Gyms will not be available on Fairfax County Public Schools holidays.

Sports in Fairfax County

The Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services does not operate sports leagues or camps. Please visit the following links for information on participating in sports.

Programs and Services

Champions of Character Awards (pdf) On Tuesday, October 9, at a special ceremony held at the Government Center, the Fairfax County Athletic Council and CRS recognized 36 individuals for contributions to youth sports in Fairfax County and their service in pursuing victory with honor. A coach, parent, and two athletes are chosen from each magisterial district.

Hershey Track and Field Games: The Fairfax County Hershey Track and Field Games will be held on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 at Falls Church High School. Participation is free, but pre-registration is required. (PLEASE NOTE: The Registration Deadline Has Been Extended to Friday, May 9,2008) Hershey Flyer (pdf) Hershey Registration Form (pdf)

Youth Sports Scholarship Program - English (pdf) - Spanish (pdf) - Scholarship assistance for youth to participate in organized athletics. Important information for youth sports administrators (pdf).

Athletic Council - A volunteer advisory Council appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
