Day Off for Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children - December13, 2008
Teenage years are a pivotal time in every child's life, and it's important that teens are given the opportunity to identify and explore individual strengths and develop unique interests. Joining a county sponsored teen program allows teens to grow in a supervised, structured, and enjoyable environment with trained staff and other teens. County staff provides positive role models for teens and they provide teens with the skills necessary to make good decisions, improve personal resiliency and to have fun. Whether you need a safe place for your teen to go after school, to develop some positive friendships and to learn some new skills, Teen Services has a program for you. Registration is the first step towards participation in Teen Services programs. Membership at the teen centers and most programs is free. Call the teen center nearest you for details (see list of centers below) or 703-324-TEEN (8336), TTY 711.
Teen Services creates a newsletter quarterly that touches on the highlights of activities or programs at the centers.
