Black History Month Celebrations
David R. Pinn Community Center
On Saturday, February 27, 2010 from noon – 4 p.m., the David R. Pinn Community Center, 10225 Zion Drive, Fairfax, Va., will hold its annual celebration in honor of Black History Month. The program entitled, “Celebrate the Dream: The Changing Face of Leadership,” will focus on the changing face of leadership in the United States. Through years of civil rights battles African Americans and other minorities have come to shape a new vision of the future. Braddock District Supervisor John C. Cook will be one of the speakers. Mott Community Center
On Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 4-7 p.m., the Mott Community Center, 12111 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Va., will hold its annual celebration in honor of Black History Month. The program entitled, “Remembering the Times: Sharing Our Stories,” will include performances, book readings, guest speakers, dinner, and much more. The programs are scheduled from 4-6 p.m. and dinner from 6-7 p.m. This event is for the entire family. All activities and dinner are free. For more information, please call 703-278-8605, TTY 711.
