Free Training for Fitness Instructors
Do you have a passion for fitness and health? Are you 50 years of age or older and physically fit? The 50Fit Instructor Training Program is a volunteer opportunity for individuals who are interested in helping seniors maintain and achieve their health goals? The Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services’ Senior Services Division is sponsoring a 50Fit Instructor Training Program. The instructor training program is specially designed to lead active older adults in safe, effective and fun group exercise programs. The training is being offered free of charge to fit seniors who are interested in volunteering to teach 50Fit Exercise Classes. Prior teaching experience is not necessary to attend the training and teach classes. 50Fit Training provides graduating students a certificate, tee shirt and tote bag full of fitness essentials. To earn a certificate students are required to complete a 7-week training course. All equipment and supplies will be provided for you during the class.
Interested individuals should call for an interview. Interviews will be held from March 22-26, 2010 at the Groveton Senior Center, 8350 Richmond Highway, Suite 325, Alexandria, Va.
