New Executive Director
The Board of Supervisors appointed Jeffrey K. Weiler as the executive director to the Fairfax County Retirement Boards, effective Monday, Sept. 16, 2013.
Weiler has more than 30 years of experience in the public sector in financial and administrative management, including working for Fairfax County Public Schools from 1983 until 1998. He is currently the chief financial officer of the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nev. where he is responsible for the leadership of the Finance and Operations Division that oversees budget development, accounting, risk management and payroll among other items.
Weiler oversees a 10-year capital program that has provided significant technological improvements to schools in his current district. He also oversaw the implementation of environmentally friendly technology in the district’s fleet of 1,400 school buses.
Weiler has also served as chief financial officer for Gwinnet County Schools in Lawrenceville, Ga. and as a consulting manager for KPMG Consulting in Tampa, Fla. where he worked in public service practices leading local government and schools in implementing financial, budget and procurement computer systems.
Weiler previously worked for Fairfax County Public Schools as a senior budget analyst, coordinator of applications support and coordinator of budget from the 1983 until 1998. Weiler has his masters of business administration and a bachelor of science in finance from Virginia Tech.
