Extension of Public Comment Period on Fairfax County Fair Housing Analysis of Impediments for the Fiscal Years 2011-2015 Consolidated Plan
The public comment period for the Fair Housing Analysis of Impediments (AI) is being extended through Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. The AI provides an overview of the fair housing situation in Fairfax County, with findings and recommendations to overcome the effects of identified impediments and a comprehensive review of a jurisdiction’s laws, regulations, and administrative policies, procedures, and practices and an assessment of how this affects the location, availability, and accessibility of housing. The AI is a requirement for federal funding under the County's Consolidated Plan. The AI is planned to be provided to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for their meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Copies of the document are available for review online, at the Citizen Information Desk located on the lobby level of the Government Center, and at the information desk of all branches of the Fairfax County Public Library system and at the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), 3700 Pender Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. Citizens wishing to comment may do so by writing to the attention of Savi Singh, Administrative Assistant, Grants Management, HCD, at the address above or via e-mail at savi.singh@fairfaxcounty.gov.
