Board Resolutions - Risk Management
Indemnification and Representation of Officers and Employees
The Board of Supervisors adopted this resolution
to define the County's obligation to provide legal defense for and
indemnification of its officers and employees against lawsuits and claims
arising from their job performance/duties and to authorize the purchase
of liability insurance.
Delegation of Settlement Authority
The Board of Supervisors adopted this resolution to define settlement authority for claims filed against the county that are liquidated under the self-insurance program.
Construction Safety Resolution
The Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution requires that each bid submitted to the county for a contract for construction, alteration, and/or repairs include a list of all willful violations, violations for failure to abate, repeated violations, or three or more serious safety violations of Federal or State OSH Standards. Additionally, bids must include information regarding termination of a contract between the contractor and the county for safety violations. This information is then forwarded to the County Risk Manager for a determination of eligibility to bid for the project.
