Laurie Thomas

Laurie Thomas is a twenty-one year veteran of law enforcement, serving in conservation law enforcement, as well as with a municipal police department and a county sheriff’s office. She is a state-certified Master Instructor in instructional skills and a Basic Police Academy Instructor. As CEO of Public Safety Training, Inc., she teaches career development issues on an in-service basis at police and sheriff’s departments, POST academies, and colleges across the United States. She is an active member of the American Society for Law Enforcement Training (ASLET), where she is on the standards and Membership Committee. She is a frequent presenter at the ASLET International Training Seminars. She also is an instructor at the Center for Terrorism Preparedness at the University of Findlay, where she is assisting in the development of the maritime security and transportation security curriculum.

Neal E. Trautman, Ph.D.

Dr. Trautman is Executive Director of the nonprofit National Institute of Ethics. He also consults and teaches anti-corruption seminars to foreign government officials for the U.S. Department of State and Commonwealth Trading Partners, Inc. Dr. Trautman has a Ph.D. in Administration of Criminal Justice, an M.A. in Criminal Justice, and a B.A. also in Criminal Justice. He is Chair of the Ethics Training Committee and co-chair of the Police Image and Ethics Committee for the International Association of Chief’s of Police. He also is chair of the Ethics Committee, American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and chair of the National Commission on Law Enforcement Integrity. Dr. Trautman walked alone from Florida to Washington, D.C. to start a national movement to enhance integrity in America.

Nicholas G. Valltos, Jr.

Mr. Valltos has a Master's Degree in Management from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Organizational Management from Columbia Union College. Currently, he is a National Law Enforcement Instructor for the Public Agency Training Council and a part-time Criminal Justice Instructor at the College of Southern Maryland. Mr. Valltos is a consultant and instructor in leadership, personnel and training, and internal investigations to local police agencies. He has been a command officer since 1989.

Bill Wagner

Bill Wagner was a member of the D. C. Metropolitan Police Department and has 32 years of experience as a Criminal Investigator and Investigative Supervisor. His specialty was violent crimes. He is a nationally recognized trainer in Criminal Investigations, Case Management and Defense Proofing Techniques for Trial Presentation. Detective Wagner has been qualified as an expert on Criminal Investigations Procedures in both federal and local courts. From 1991 to 2001, in addition to his investigative responsibilities, he was a faculty member and on the board of advisors for the Criminal Justice Division at Prince George’s Community College. Bill developed and assisted in the implementation of the College A.A. degree program for Forensic Science. He is the Past Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations Training at the Prince Georges Municipal Police Academy and has provided seminars nationally at both the local and federal level.

Stan B. Walters

Stan is President of Stan B. Walters & Associates, Inc. In addition to earning a B.S. degree he has an M.S. degree in Criminal Justice Administration and is a graduate of the National Crime Prevention Institute. He started his 30 plus year career as a civilian employee with the FBI, worked for the Security Division of a Fortune 500 company and as Director of Security for a commercial bank. His company provides interview and interrogation services and training to business, industry and law enforcement throughout the United States. Stan is an accomplished lecturer, speaker, and instructor. He has done and continues to actively study and research interview and interrogation behaviors, strategies and techniques including hundreds of prison interviews of subjects convicted of all types of crimes as well as investigative forensic interviews. He also frequently serves as a consultant to prosecutors' offices and police departments in criminal investigations.

Dr. Kenneth P. Yusko

Dr. Ken Yusko is an assistant professor of Human Resources in Marymount's School of Business Administration. He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Yusko is an expert in the area of personnel selection system design. As a consultant in both the private and public sectors, he has helped Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, partnerships, and government agencies to become more effective.
