Adult Detention Center Visiting Policy
HOLIDAY NOTICE: The scheduling office will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 30. There will be no telephone or in-person scheduling available during this time. Online visiting requests may be submitted as usual, but our response time will be longer.
Visiting days are SATURDAY and SUNDAY, in 20 minute time slots that begin on the half-hour, starting at 9:30 a.m. The last time slot is 3:30 p.m. Inmates are allowed ONE visit per weekend. Visitors MUST BE PRESENT 30 minutes prior to their scheduled visit.
If you are visiting a female inmate, choose only one of the four time slots listed below. If you are visiting a male inmate, you may choose any time slot EXCEPT the four listed below.
- Saturdays: The 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. slots are reserved for visiting female inmates only.
- Sundays: The 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. slots are reserved for visiting female inmates only.
REMINDER: Visiting policy prohibits cell phones and cameras in the visiting area. Any person violating this policy will have his or her visiting privileges suspended. Please review all personal visiting rules before you schedule a visit. There are no exceptions to the visiting policy.
The deadline to schedule your visit for the upcoming weekend is 3:30 p.m. on THURSDAY, unless otherwise noted above or on the web form. Requests for the following weekend will not be accepted until after 3 p.m. on Friday. Online scheduling is fast and easy. Your request will be approved or denied via email, usually within two business days. If you use the online scheduling form, do NOT come to the Adult Detention Center unless you receive an emailed confirmation approving your visit.
If you do not have access to email, you may schedule your visit by calling the Sheriff’s Office at 703-246-3430, Monday through Friday, between 9 - 11 a.m. The phone line is often busy, but every attempt will be made to answer your call during those two hours. You will NOT receive written confirmation for telephone scheduling. [TTY for hearing impaired is 711.]
A third option is to schedule your visit in person. Walk-in scheduling is available at the Adult Detention Center's 1st floor (not the ground floor) information booth Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. The information booth is closed daily from 1 - 2 p.m. You will NOT receive written confirmation for walk-in scheduling.
