The Alternative Incarceration Branch (previously known as the Pre-Release Center) is adjacent to the Adult Detention Center and offers residential and community programs for eligible offenders. The goal of alternative incarceration programs is to teach offenders self-sufficiency and life skills in order to ease their transition back to the community and reduce the likelihood that they will commit another crime and return to jail. Approximately 150 offenders are assigned to alternative incarceration programs.
