Alternative Incarceration

The Alternative Incarceration Branch (previously known as the Pre-Release Center) is adjacent to the Adult Detention Center and offers community work and treatment programs for eligible offenders. In addition to managing the day-to-day operation of the programs, sheriff's deputies are responsible for maintaining order and ensuring the safety and security of offenders, visitors and staff.

The goal of alternative incarceration programs is to teach offenders self-sufficiency and real life skills in order to reduce the likelihood that they will commit another crime and return to jail.

Approximately 200 offenders are assigned to either residential or community labor force programs.
