Fees for service are generally governed by Va. Code §17.1-272.
The fee for general service on behalf of an in-state entity is $12. Payment must be cash, certified check or money order. No other form of payment will be accepted.
The process and service fee for serving any papers returnable to an out-of-state entity is $80 ($75 plus $5 notary fee). Payment must be a cashier's check, certified check or money order. No other form of payment will be accepted.
- Out-of-state service requires two copies of the documents to be served and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please ensure that return postage is sufficient.
- The $80 fee is per address, entity, corporation or individual.
- Service will be in person only, unless substitute service is authorized in writing.
Sheriff's Sale Fees
The fee for posting a Sheriff's Sale notice is $100. Payment must
be cash, certified check or money order. No other form of payment will be
