All deputy sheriff positions are filled, so the Sheriff's Office is not hiring at this time. We are not accepting applications nor maintaining any applications on file; therefore, please do not submit an application until this notice is removed.
Follow the TWO-STEP application process below. You will NOT be considered for the position until you have completed Step 2. Step 1 only registers your name as an official applicant with Fairfax County.
STEP 1: Resume / Application
Fairfax County requires all job applicants to submit their resumes online through AIMS - Applicant Information Management System. Please direct any questions about AIMS to the Fairfax County Department of Human Resources at 703-222-5872, TTY 711.
STEP 2: Initial Applicant Screening Form
All applicants for the position of deputy sheriff must complete an Initial Applicant Screening Form, which asks for information about your professional and personal life. The form is available in a "fillable" format online. Please return the form no later than 30 days from the date you submitted your resume through AIMS.
Before you fill out the Initial Applicant Screening Form, SAVE IT ON YOUR COMPUTER so that you will not lose your information. To fill out the form online, you must have Adobe Reader 8 or higher on your computer. Older versions of Adobe Reader do not have the features required for completing and saving this form. After you fill out the form, save it again and print it. Sign the form and mail it to:

Please remember, your application will NOT be considered without a completed Initial Applicant Screening Form. No later than 30 days after we receive both your resume through AIMS and your Initial Applicant Screening Form, we will contact you with a letter of denial or a conditional job offer. If we issue a conditional job offer and you still wish to pursue employment with the Sheriff's Office, you will be required to complete a more detailed personal history form.
