UPDATE - Stacey Kincaid to be Sworn in as Fairfax County Sheriff, Nov. 26


On November 25, 2013 at 2 p.m., Stacey Ann Kincaid was officially sworn in as Fairfax County Sheriff by Dennis J. Smith, Chief Judge of the Circuit Court. There will be a ceremonial swearing in on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse.

Captain Stacey Ann Kincaid will be sworn in as the 77th Sheriff of Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 6 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse, 4000 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA. She won a special election on November 5 to fill a term that ends in December 2015.

Kincaid is a 26-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and has served in line and supervisory positions in agency operations, including confinement, alternatives to incarceration, court security and administration. She has taken an active leadership role in community relations, especially concerning the safety and well-being of children and underserved populations. In 2008 she received the agency’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a career of sustained, exemplary performance.

She is a graduate of the Leadership Fairfax Program, a 10-month curriculum focused on community issues that is designed to build a diverse pool of skilled, enthusiastic leaders in the public and private sectors. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science/criminal justice from Frostburg State College in 1987. Her summer internship at the Sheriff’s Office sparked her interest in a career as a deputy sheriff.
