Wreath Laying Ceremony and Honor Guard Competition - May 3, 2014

On Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m., the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office will participate in an annual wreath laying ceremony at the National Law Enforcement Memorial at Judiciary Square in Washington, DC. The ceremony, sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, marks the beginning of National Correctional Employees Week, May 3-9. Slain correctional officers from across the nation will be remembered individually.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will meet teams from jurisdictions in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia for the annual honor guard competition. The public is invited to the entire event, and there is no cost to attend.
