Volunteer Opportunity – Become a Fairfax County Reserve Deputy Sheriff

Are you interested in the challenges of public safety and the satisfaction of providing a service to our community? The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office invites you to join our team as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. The 10-week training academy begins September 10, 2014, and meets Wednesday evenings and all day on Saturdays.

The Reserve Deputy Sheriff Unit is made up of uniformed volunteers who provide the Sheriff's Office with additional public safety resources to better serve the residents of Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax and the towns of Herndon and Vienna. Reserves may work in the Adult Detention Center, the Courthouse and at community events.

Applications will be accepted until the training academy is full. All applicants are subject to a criminal background check.
