Reserve Deputies Take Oath

Sheriff Stan Barry will administer the oath of office to seven graduates of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputy Program on Friday, January 11, 2008, at 1 p.m. The ceremony will take place in Courtroom 2A in the Fairfax County Judicial Center, 4110 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA.

The Sheriff’s Office is planning to hold its next Reserve Deputy Academy session in fall 2008. To be considered, applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, be in good health and character, and have no criminal record. The Sheriff’s Office will supply all uniforms and equipment upon successful completion of the Academy. The Reserve Deputy Program has been in existence since 2002 and currently has over 50 Reserve Deputy Sheriffs.
