Sheriff's deputies teamed up with
county police officers on December 12-14 for Fairfax County's 20th Annual
Santa's Ride, a three-day marathon effort to collect and distribute
donated toys for sick children.
Santa traded his sleigh for a Harley Davidson and led a motorcade of reindeer and elves all over the county, stopping at police stations, schools, and other government facilities to pick up thousands of new, unwrapped toys donated by county employees and residents.
After sorting the toys into age-appropriate categories, Santa and his
helpers heaped good will and gifts upon children at the Lombardi Cancer
Center in Georgetown, INOVA Fairfax Hospital, and Ronald McDonald
House.
