Sheriff's Office Teams Up with Target to Clothe Needy School Kids
August 18, 2008

The
Fairfax County Sheriff's Office teamed up with Target in Burke, Virginia,
on August 16 to purchase clothing for 26 school-aged children staying in
a local shelter. The 15th annual Shop with the Sheriff event brought
smiles to everyone and prompted curious glances from other shoppers in
the store.
"People can't help but notice 25 uniformed deputies strolling through the kids departments on a Saturday morning," said Deputy Sheriff Captain Sean Whitmore. "This event lets us give back to the community we serve and have fun while we're doing it."
After 90 minutes of shopping, the group left for an early lunch at Ruby Tuesday in Fairfax. The restaurant provided free meals for all of the children.
