The Fairfax County
Sheriff's Office is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to serve the
community in an interesting and rewarding role as a Reserve Deputy
Sheriff.
- Local training (80+ hours) is provided by certified law enforcement instructors and is conducted during non-business hours.
- Uniforms, equipment and risk insurance are provided upon successful completion of the training.

Candidate Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- No felony convictions
- Good character
- Good health
- United States citizen

Selection of candidates is based on a comprehensive assessment of each applicant’s qualifications, background, and availability to support activities of the Sheriff’s Office. Members of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit come from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations. They share a common desire to serve their community.
