The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office is NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for the Reserve Deputy Sheriff program at this time.

 

The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to serve the community in an interesting and rewarding role as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff.

Local training (80+ hours) is provided by certified law enforcement instructors and is conducted during non-business hours. Uniforms, equipment and risk insurance are provided upon successful completion of the training.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No felony convictions
  • Good character
  • Good health

  • Traffic/crowd control and assistance

Selection of candidates is based on a comprehensive assessment of each applicant’s qualifications, background, and availability to support activities of the Sheriff’s Office. Members of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit come from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations. They share a common desire to serve their community.
