Springfield District Tax Relief Workshop Set for March 21
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is hosting a series of free tax relief workshops in March at several locations throughout the county. County staff from the Department of Tax Administration (DTA) will be on site to assist residents with filling out the application form and answer any questions that may arise. Real estate tax relief is available for seniors and people with disabilities who meet certain qualifications; they also may be eligible for car tax and rent relief. Countywide Bicycle Master Plan Public Meeting (Springfield & Burke Areas)
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting to discuss bicycling issues throughout the County for the purpose of creating the Fairfax County Bicycle Master Plan.
Date: Tuesday, January 24
Time: 5:30 p.m.-8:00p.m., with a presentation at 6:30

The meeting is an opportunity for your input:
- What streets and roads need to be bicycle-friendly?
- Where should on-road bike lanes, where off-road trails, and/or other approaches be located throughout the County?
- Where are the difficult or unsafe locations to bicycle?;
- How can cycling be made safer for young people and novice cyclists?
- How can cycling for short trips, like running errands, shopping, meeting a friend at a coffee shop, going to a park or playground be made more attractive?

VDOT Safety Study Completed Regarding Median Crossover Crashes on the
Fairfax County Parkway and Franconia-Springfield Parkway
The study encompassed the length of the roadway between Route 7 and Interstate 95 (excluding the section in the vicinity of the Fair Lakes Parkway intersection that is under construction).

"Pardon Our Dust" Meeting for Fairfax County Parkway /
Fair Lakes Parkway Interchange Project
The Virginia Department of Transportation hosted a "Pardon our
Dust" meeting on October 27, 2010 to provide the public
information on what to expect regarding the forthcoming construction
and related detours on the planned interchange for the intersection
of the Fairfax County Parkway with Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument
Drive.
