Tysons Comprehensive Plan - Urban Design - Creating a Sense of Place
The Plan includes Urban Design Recommendations
that are being developed into Guidelines to help establish Tysons' sense
of place. These recommendations call for including venues for performing
arts and public art throughout Tysons and maintaining high standards for
innovative architecture and design. Recommendations focus on the
Pedestrian Realm and on Building and Site Design.
Pedestrian Realm - Recommendations
here address the street grid and block pattern and streetscape design.
The Plan includes illustrations for Boulevards as well as Avenues,
Collectors, and Local Streets. The Plan also discusses street lighting,
street furniture, and plantings.
