About the Human Services Resource Guide

About the HSRG The Human Services Resource Guide (HSRG) is a web-based application that contains information about organizations, programs and services available to Fairfax County residents. The HSRG provides detailed descriptions and eligibility criteria about the services offered by public and non-profit organizations. The information contained in the HSRG is researched, reviewed and maintained by human services staff.

The HSRG utilizes a Taxonomy or classification system to organize services. The Taxonomy provides all users with a common language to easily identify similar services. The Taxonomy is made up of a hierarchy of classifications with a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 6 levels of specificity. Searching at a higher level will provide more results, while searching at a lower level will lessen search results.
