AFTERSCHOOL RECREATION/ACTIVITIES - CHILDREN
Fairfax County Public Schools and the Fairfax County Government have taken the initiative to establish and fund afterschool opportunities for children and youth to provide a safe haven for young people, improve academic achievement, improve student behavior, and reduce risk-taking behaviors and substance abuse. All middle schools currently have a regularly scheduled afterschool program for at least three days a week for about two hours per day. Late bus transportation provided. Contact local middle school for specific program information and schedule.
