Community Assistance

From low-cost rabies vaccination clinics, to our PetHaven program, to our Pet Food Pantry, to pointing folks in the right direction to find low-cost spay/neuter and other pet resources, to providing tips on emergency pet preparedness, we aim to serve our community by providing assistance to help pet owners keep their pets.

Pet Food Pantry

If you're a Fairfax County resident facing hardship and are in need of pet food or other supplies to help care for your pet(s), please call or email us! The Shelter has a supply of food (canned and/or dry) and often has other supplies (crates, carriers, leashes, collars, etc) available as well. Call (703-830-1100) or email (animalshelter@fairfaxcounty.gov) to arrange a time for pickup.

Does your pet need a rabies vaccination? Check out our upcoming schedule of low-cost rabies vaccination clinics and mark your calendar to attend!

Need to have your pet spayed/neutered, or get the basic vaccines, or need financial assistance for another pet-related issue? Here's a list of resources!

Domestic violence and animal abuse are often connected, and our PetHaven program offers an option for short-term temporary care for pets whose owners need to get out of a bad situation.
