Summer Camp

With school almost out, summer camp season for children is right around the corner. Whether your kids are attending a program for sports, arts, or education, there is plenty of fun to be had, and plenty of forms to be filled out!

It’s important to remember while providing your child’s social security number may seem routine, you should make certain you are protecting your sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. Before providing any personal information, find out:

• who has access to the information

• how will the information be used

• how will the information be stored or disposed of

• can you opt out of providing that information

• or are you able to give only the last four numbers of your child’s social security number

Scam Free Vacation

If you find yourself dreaming about your next vacation, you are probably budgeting your time and money, and this means you can’t afford to lose out to a scam! With plenty of travel deals to consider, you know you want a good trip at a fair price, so you trust a travel agency or travel website, or your own research, but consider this:

• Are the cancellation and refund policies clear and are you able to obtain a copy of the policies in writing?

• Can you pay with a credit card to have the built in fraud protection and dispute feature?

• Do you know the total price of the hotel stay per night, including “resort fees” and other charges?

• Can you trust the reviews?

Once you have all of that information, it’s best to compare travel deals and prices to find what works best for you!
