Fairfax County Building Official Launches Blog

Fairfax County Building Official Brian Foley recognized a need to improve communication with the development community. To that end, he has created a blog through which he will share information that will help improve the speed, consistency, and predictability of the development review process. Building permit applicants will benefit from his division's extensive knowledge of building codes, industry trends, and county policies and procedures.

Foley and his staff will answer questions about the current code, available programs to expedite a plan through the review process, and requirements for plan submissions, among other topics. Contractors, developers, builders, designers, and homeowners who would like to follow the Building Official's blog are invited to subscribe to the Letters to Industry email distribution list. Readers are encouraged to join the conversation by submitting questions and comments through the Contact Us feature.
