Annual Tax Calendar

For all DUE DATES: If a date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or County holiday, the due date is extended to the following business day.

Tax bills are mailed approximately 30 days prior to the payment due date.

Filing and payment dates related to the following tax topics:

Vehicles (and mobile homes) purchased or moved into county must file within 60 days

Car Tax payment due for vehicles purchased or moved into the county on or after July 1 of prior year (otherwise due October 5 of prior year)

Deadline to report changes in vehicle ownership and addresses for renewals and to file on boats, trailers, and mobile homes

 Real Estate Tax

End of February

Annual Real Estate Assessment notices mailed

First Week of April

Deadline to file real estate assessment appeal with Department of Tax Administration (DTA)

Real Estate Tax Rate set by Board of Supervisors

June 1

Deadline to file real estate appeal with Board of Equalization (BOE)

July 28

First installment Real Estate Tax payment due

December 5

Second installment Real Estate Tax payment due

 Tax Relief for Seniors and People with Disabilities

April 1

Renewal deadline for returning applicants in the Tax Relief Program

December 31

Deadline for first-time or hardship tax relief applicants to apply for current and one prior year

 Dog License

All dogs four months of age and older must be licensed. Dog License Application Form

 Business Taxes

New businesses starting or relocating into the county must file within 75 days.  Business License Filing Form

Business, Professional & Occupational License (BPOL) renewal deadline and payment due

May 1

Business Personal Property filing deadline

Business Personal Property Tax payment due

 Information on Military Obligations

Service Members Deployed Outside of United States

May be allowed an extension for payment of Real Estate Taxes and Personal Property Taxes (Car Tax). To request a payment extension under this provision, the service member should notify DTA of his/her deployment and contact us and pay within 90 days of post deployment. Documentation, preferably a copy of military orders, will be required.

Disabled Veteran or Surviving Spouse

May be entitled to Real Estate Tax exemption on principle residence. Application Form

Surviving Spouse of Veteran Killed in Action

May be entitled to Real Estate Tax exemption on principle residence. Application Form
