CECAP Development

The Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan, or CECAP, is Fairfax County’s first-ever greenhouse gas emission reduction plan. The plan includes goals to define the path forward for Fairfax County residents, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders, to reduce our collective carbon emissions. The plan also includes strategies and actions individuals and organizations can take to help achieve the goals.

On this page you will find resources and information related to the CECAP planning process, including links to Working Group meetings and materials and resources used by the Working Group in the development of the plan.

The Fairfax County Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) development process was administered by the Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination with support from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Fairfax County-based management consulting firm ICF. The plan, which is the first of its kind for the county, includes a greenhouse gas inventory as well as targets for greenhouse gas reduction in the coming years.
