Task Force

The Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) Task Force, which operated from January through September 2020, was comprised of representatives and experts from dozens of community groups and prominent local organizations with a demonstrated interest in energy and climate issues, as well as a liaison from each of the CECAP Focus Groups. The Task Force worked alongside county staff and consultants to develop long-term and interim goals for the CECAP.

The CECAP is a community-driven plan that will identify and develop strategies to meet countywide climate mitigation goals, and provide guidance for residents, workers, public and private sector organizations, and businesses to reduce their energy use and decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Once complete, the CECAP has the potential to bring significant economic and environmental benefits to Fairfax County, and the Task Force will play a vital role in ensuring the Plan benefits everyone equitably.

As of October 2020, the CECAP Task Force was dissolved in favor of creating a single, larger Working Group including members of the former CECAP Focus Groups. Below you will find materials from past Task Force meetings. For Working Group meeting materials and information, please click here.
