The Fairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination (OEEC), in partnership with the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition and the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC, is presenting “Electrify Your Ride with Tax Incentives: A Carbon-Free Fairfax Webinar” on Thursday, October 5 at 6 p.m. The webinar will be hosted by Fairfax County Environmental Analyst Kate Daley and feature brief presentations and Q/A with Antoine Thompson and Jeffrey Jacobs. The webinar will be livestreamed on Fairfax County’s YouTube channel as well as OEEC’s Facebook page. No registration required.

Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw hosted a climate action conference on Sept. 30th. Featured speakers included Congressman Gerry Connolly, Chairman Jeff McKay, and Michael Forrester of the U.S. Department of Energy. Residents learned about how to take advantage of government incentives to ease the transition to low-carbon, energy-saving home improvements and electric vehicles. The half-day conference took place at Lake Braddock Secondary School (9200 Burke Lake Road, Burke) on September 30, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
With more and more EVs on the road, Fairfax County’s Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination (OEEC) launched the Charge Up Fairfax pilot program to make installing shared charging stations easier and more affordable in multi-family condo, clusters and townhome communities.
OEEC held a Charge Up Fairfax Webinar on Thursday, September 14, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help interested parties learn more about the program and how to apply.

Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP-VA) and Fairfax County’s Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination hosted a virtual information session about Solarize Virginia on July 27 at 6 p.m.
On June 22, 2023, the Green Business Partners team worked with Department of Transportation to host a joint webinar showcasing how businesses can benefit from the services and resources offered by the Best Workplaces for Commuters and Green Business Partners programs. During the webinar, attendees learned about the benefits of both programs and how they can opt-in to the Green Business Partners program as part of their Best Workplaces for Commuters application.

The Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC) will hold its annual public comment meeting on January 11, 2023, at 7:15 p.m. in Conference Room 4/5 of the Fairfax County Government Center.
EQAC is appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to advise on environmental matters. The public is encouraged to attend EQAC’s public comment meeting to share views on the state of the environment and to identify environmental issues of concern applicable to Fairfax County.

On March 31, Dr. Mariana Figueiro, Director of the Light and Health Research Center at Mount Sinai, and Anica Landreneau, Global Director of Sustainable Design for HOK, joined the Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination for a dynamic discussion of the ways light affects our daily experience and our health.
Water is not free, don't let your hard-earned money go down the drain. On March 16, Fairfax County HomeWise volunteers held a 60-minute webinar on water conservation in bathrooms. They shared tips on how to identify leaks in your bathroom and where, when, and how to intervene. Attendees picked up new tips and tricks for saving water used in sinks, toilets, tubs, and showers and learned how to turn their bathrooms into water-saving sanctuaries.
You pay for your heat, don't lose precious warm air to cracks and gaps around the exterior of your home. On February 22, 2022, Fairfax County HomeWise volunteers hosted a 60-minute webinar on preventing heat loss and sealing air leaks at home. This webinar included a presentation and a question and answer session. The volunteers shared tips on how to spot potential problem areas, which tools to use to assess your home's windows and doors, and how to make simple repairs that can save you money and make your home more comfortable.
