Energy Use in Offices

The bulk of the energy in the office category is used by the Government Center complex, which includes the following administrative offices:

  • The Government Center, which features the board auditorium, public meeting spaces, and departments such as Tax Administration and Elections;
  • The Herrity Building, which houses the Department of Planning and Development, the Fairfax County Park Authority, and Land Development staff;
  • The Pennino Building, which provides offices for social services;
  • Public Safety Headquarters, which opened in October 2017 and consolidates the Police and Fire and Rescue Departments.

Energy Use Equivalent Carbon Emissions
