Michael A. Becketts,

Bowling for Gratitude

lettersYouth served by the Permanency and Life Skills unit of the Department of Family Services’ Foster Care & Adoption program struck out for the team at the end of January! Sixteen young people laced up their bowling shoes at Bowl America Burke and showed how they roll, taking time out of throwing strikes and spares to write thank you notes to military veterans and donate food to the needy. Vets at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital will receive the gratitude cards near Valentine’s Day.

The Permanency and Life Skills program helps prepare youth aged 14 to 21 in foster care for adult responsibilities and choices. For more information about Life Skills events and opportunities, contact Maggie Moreland, 703-324-5310.
