School Mobile Classroom Catches Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a mobile classroom fire at Pine Spring Elementary School near Fairview Lake, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2007. The school is located at 7607 Willow Lane.

Firefighters saw fire and smoke coming from the approximately 12 by 50 foot mobile classroom upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. The structure housed a music classroom and a storage area. The structure was unoccupied when the fire broke out. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $55,000. The structure was a complete loss.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. A baseboard heater or an electrical anomaly caused the fire.
