Accidental Vienna House Fire

Date:  February 14, 2014

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Thursday, February 13, 2014, at approximately 8:25 p.m., in the Vienna area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 2251 Richelieu Drive.

Firefighters encountered fire showing from the roof of the one-story, split level house upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes. All occupants were out of the house prior to units arriving. Two adults and two children were displaced. Red Cross assistance was declined. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

According fire investigators, the fire was accidental due to combustibles too close to a heat source.
