Alexandria House Fire Intentionally Set

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a garden apartment fire, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at approximately 9:30 p.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 7407 Beulah Street.
Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the second floor of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack on the second floor and brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. Several occupants escaped unharmed prior to the arrival of firefighters. Four adults and two children have been displaced. The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $55,000.
According to fire investigators, the origin of the fire was in a second floor bedroom. The fire was intentionally set and continues to be under investigation.
